Source log template (CSV)
One row per claim. The simplest habit that makes a research memo defensible in a meeting.
Columns
| Column | What goes in it |
|---|---|
| claim | The exact sentence you will write in the brief |
| source_title | Page title + publisher |
| url | Primary source URL (not a repost) |
| accessed_date | YYYY-MM-DD — pages change |
| notes | Primary/secondary, archived link, caveats |
Rules that keep it honest
- No row, no claim.
- Prefer primary sources: official blogs, docs, filings, changelogs.
- Archive anything likely to change and paste the archive URL in notes.
- Mark estimates and interpretations explicitly.
Not investment advice. Templates and illustrative samples for organizing public, citable information. Samples are teaching examples (fictional or illustrative); verify every claim yourself.
